This site plan was driven by the downward slope of the land and the requirement to plot a townhouse product. The architecture was designed to “take-up” some of the slope and provide view opportunities. To avoid the monotony of garage doors lined up along a street, courtyards were introduced. The auto courtyards in Valle di Oro are tree shaded piazzas surrounded by attached single-family homes with the character of hill town buildings in Tuscany. Guest parking is provided in the center of each piazza, with an auto turnaround at the midpoint and at the end. Traffic calming measures include enhanced paving and curving drive lanes.
