DESERT MIXED-USE COMMUNITY MASTER PLAN
PALM DESERT AREA, CA
233 acres
This modern mixed-use walkable and sustainable desert community is in the planning stage. It is a diverse, pedestrian-friendly community that promotes a healthier lifestyle by emphasizing connectivity, diversity, and sustainability. A mixed-use commercial area is located along the busiest southernmost street; this entry leads to a grand boulevard through the community flanked by stately townhouses and manor-type condominium buildings. The community provides lifestyle choices for all ages with the housing mix ranging from 7,000 s.f single-family detached homesites to apartments. A total of 36 acres or 15 percent of the project site is devoted to parks, recreation centers, open space retention areas, and well sites. The creation of this Master Plan was a team effort with Iverson Architects as the lead consultant. Other team members include Roschen Van Cleve Architects, Perkowitz + Ruth Architects, and landscape designers SWA Group.
